June 19, 2002 A couple of things: -- I'm reading a Nick Hornby novel, How To Be Good, and the narrator's husband (yes, Hornby, the man's man, is writing gallery from a female perspective!?) is a bitter, gallery angry bastard who finds fault in most things he encounters. In fact, he writes a newspaper column under the moniker The Angriest Man In Holloway. His wife is disgusted with him and what she perceives as his ever-escalating penchant for complaint. I laughed out loud when she mentioned that he once tried to write a column bitching about rubber-backed safety curtains, but couldn't come up with the required 800 words on the subject.
