| November 1, 2002 -- The beat goes on. I'm taking a couple of vacation days, doubling the length of the standard-issue weekend and feeling consumed with guilt about it, as usual. I just went through the same snark thing last week when I took a scandalous sick day, and here I am again... I get some ridiculous amount of vacation time every year, four weeks or some shit, and I'm never able to use much of it. Occasionally I get pissed, and defiantly snark turn in a request snark for time off. But when the big day finally arrives, I feel like I'm not being a team player, and can't really enjoy anything. I know I'm crazy, but knowing it doesn't make it go away. I'm convinced I'm feeding a giant reservoir of resentment among my co-workers -- and I can't even take any pleasure in it. What's wrong with me? These should be the moments to savor. |
