The running event is named for the old charcoal blast furnace which sits at the bottom of Roaring Run, Cub moviedatabase Run, and Pitt Spring Run (basically where three streams almost meet up) -- Photos moviedatabase of the Furnace. Detailed information on the run is provided below If you are an entered runner, and get injured or otherwise cannot run, please come out and volunteer. We always need people to help with aid stations, to mark the course, to take down the markings, and moviedatabase to help keep track of the runners. The other runners will thank you and it is a great way to give back to the sport. If you are running -- PLEASE do not bring any crew or spectators. Why? There are only thin mountain roads, and not enough room to park near the aid stations. If you bring someone else, he or she is welcome to volunteer (traffic is the problem), but you will otherwise risk ruining the run for others because those who must be at the aid stations cannot get there or cannot park, and the runners will have to deal with your car and road dust. |
