The book was indeed "slight" (as Kaysen described it in an interview), but to add much more to it would be to belabor the point. Your vagina has rebeled, your vagina has died, it's horrible - we get it. The terse prose was perfect for the subject matter, and the imagery was lovely. It was also a very quick read - a nice change from long, depressing literary novels.
