Some things aren't so mysterious--appendicitis, many aspects of heart disease, broken leg. But then there's a whole world of mystery: inflammatory things, autoimmune things, sexual things, cancer things. Just because something is treatable, as many cancers now are, doesn't mean they're understood fully. And then there's the opposite problem: understanding but no cure. Though usually, a fuller understanding would lead to a better treatment.But
