I sat in my usual spot to watch her and I suddenly noticed she was "chattering"(i.e making a bit of a noise. which is unusual for her). The magpie emerged, limping up the roof and I opened the window and bellowed at him so he'd fly off quickly and get away from her. Mrs Speedy didn't come out. I waited and she didn't appear. She could have flown off low behind the fence in another direction but I didn't see her, she also might have gone while I was putting on my boots to get into the garden to try and search the hedge and see if she was injured.
