Initially, I had a mixed newport beach reaction to the film. The acting was strong, the two newport beach male leads were hot, and the writing and directing were skillfully newport beach executed, but some aspects of the film just didn't come together, mainly the ending, where the two characters, Julio and Tenoch separate and end their friendship. Then, last weekend when I was rummaging around an independent video store in San Francisco, I ran across another copy of the movie, the un-rated director's cut that was shown in theaters, and decided to investigate my suspicions that the film had been edited. Oh my. What those editors did to that film should be considered criminal. They butchered it. They hacked it to pieces like Republicans going after Affirmative Action. Those editors managed to make a beautifully crafted masterpiece into something disjointed and overwhelming average. By removing the more detailed aspects of the sex scenes they cut away crucial parts of the movie that directly related to the plot and character development.
