In a modest way I have practiced a less consumption driven life for many years. My key contribution toward low fat food this life style has been my use of the bicycle to get to work and, now that I am retired, to run local errands. It is worthwhile to point out that this has had major benefiits for me personally. As a 72 year old I am still a black diamond skier and in general enjoy an active life style with minimal concessions to advancing age. This in contrast to many of my friends and compatriots who huff and puff just to get from the parking lot to the mall entrance and who owe their life to by pass surgery and diabetis medication.It
