Here are my bottom-line reviews: Swingers Real good. Waiting thrashings for Guffman Real thrashings good. Being There Real good. The Coen Brothers' The Man Who Wasn't There is in the on-deck circle, and I hear it's real good as well. Stay tuned for my thoughts on that one. -- I tried to watch Magnolia but baled out early. Thirty minutes or so into it I had absolutely no idea what was going on. People were fucking in front of television sets, an old man was lying in a hospital bed, Tom Cruise was hollering, a black woman was handcuffed to a couch... It made no sense whatsoever. |
