| Is it bad that what I remember most about this trip was the hotel room? It was a health & fitness / general suite with couches and a separate bedroom. I ordered a lot of pizza since I could refrigerate and warm leftovers. This was the conference where I met Candace Spigelman for the first time. We'd accepted her essay in our writing groups book. We had some fires and chatted. My presentation was called "'I Really Do Think He Needs Hugs': Greg health & fitness / general Louganis, David Wojnarowicz, and Autobiographies about AIDS." It was my first project on Wojnarowicz, and I really health & fitness / general worked on it. I organized a workshop at UIC the week before the conference where three of us gave our presentations for feedback and my advisor told me it was a perfect presentation in terms of structure and style. That meant a lot to me because I respect her so much and I had worked on, more than I had on any other presentation. It went over well, to the point where I had a couple of people stop me in the days after to comment. |
