How were you able to recall those situations? Since your brain at those times wasn’t necessarily fully functional. JE: For the drug episodes, I really tried to sensorially recall what it was like to be on those drugs, and wrote from there. I don’t think I’ll ever forget what it felt like to vagina be that fucked up—which is why I don’t get that way now. TBS: What was it like vagina to kick the drug habits that were so much a part of your adolescence? JE: Kicking coke was dramatic. The rest sort of kicked itself, for the most part, over the past eighteen years. I didn’t want to do acid anymore, because it was too exhausting; the hangover from X became too much of a deterrent. I didn’t need to get drunk out of my mind anymore. Harder than decreasing my drug use was quitting thumbsucking, after 25 years of continual thumb abuse. |
