Parents will quite likely be unaware of their child becoming sexually active at such a young age, maybe because they weekly don't want to believe it is possible. Most parents are happy for us to do these sessions If we as sex educators are allowed to at least get the ball weekly rolling, it will make it easier for parents and guardians to maintain this education. What is wrong with children knowing how babies are made? Sex is not a weekly dirty word and children should be allowed to understand this. We cannot put our head in the sand and pretend sex doesn't happen between young people, regardless of our own views on whether it is right or wrong. It is ok to be moralistic but you have to realise that we are all at risk from STI's if we don't protect ourselves and our children are at risk of unplanned pregnancies if we don't inform them of the risks at a young age.
