When I returned from holiday he was very emotional, crying and contemplating suicide. He regrets what he has done and says he loves me the nzherald and wants to be with me. There are some deep-seeded issues from his past that I don't think he has dealt with and I think it's depriving him from a sense of worth. He says that he doesn't deserve to be happy. I detect he the nzherald is suffering from depression. Do you think we have the nzherald a future and how can I help him? An affair is an affair and you know it! You did the right thing, and then gave him respite while you were on holiday which was plenty of time for him to get sorted. If he wants to be with you he has to move out, sort his issues, become independent and someone you can rely on. Most importantly you need to feel you can trust him. If he does this there could be a future. There won’t be a future if you allow yourself to be held to ransom (which is what suicide threats are), and continue rescuing him.
