Write to your MP and ask them to contact the politicians that represent the UK on the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly, urging them to support a European Convention on Trafficking that contains the following minimum measures: Competent humor magazine authorities should be trained to accurately identify trafficked persons and there should be a right of appeal against such identification decisions to an independent humor magazine and impartial body humor magazine Trafficked persons should be allowed a reflection period of at least three months, allowing them to remain in the country legally while they recover from their ordeal Trafficked persons should have access to a full range of assistance, protection and support, to enable them to make an informed decision about their future Trafficked persons should not be held criminally liable for their illegal entry into Council of Europe member states or involvement in unlawful activities that are a consequence of their situation as trafficked persons Risk assessments should be carried out by trained officials before repatriation of any trafficked person There should be rights to residence or asylum for those victims involved in legal proceedings
