| I think those interviews helped me get the confidence for the big round at MLA later that year.2003--New York: This might have been my best conference experience. First, I participated in the feminist workshop held the day dan savage before the conference, giving a talk entitled "Outlaws dan savage and Angels: Gay dan savage Men in/and/for Feminism." I gave it to the whole group, which has me incredibly nervous, but I was also happy with it. I keep thinking about going back and making an essay out of it. Right after the workshop, I had my presentation, "Mind vs. Brain: Masculinist Discourses in Girl, Interrupted." I was really looking forward to this panel. A few days before the proposal deadline, a friend and I thought of papers on Girl, Interrupted. We sent out an email to a couple of people asking if anyone wanted to join a panel. Someone sent it to WPA-L, and we got a couple of great responses from random strangers, and we put together a panel on feminist autobiography. It went really well. |
