TBS: In the book, you don’t talk much polyamorous about your father, whom you hadn’t polyamorous seen since you were young. Is he polyamorous back in your life now? JE: My father has worked hard to make amends for the past, and we have a very good relationship these days, which is extremely fortunate for me, as my relationship with my mother is somewhat less close. TBS: It’s been almost 20 years since the part of your life detailed in GIRLBOMB ended. How have your friends who didn’t know you then reacted to your story? JE: Friends who know me now are surprised about the things they learned in the book, even though I’ve been pretty upfront about my past, and have written about it before. A story called “Shelter Happens” was published in New York Press in 1993. I guess I’ve changed a lot since then. But they mostly react with a lot of sympathy for the girl I used to be, and praise for the person I am now.
