If it's a "woman's disease", there just isn't research done on it, which means the doctors don't know what causes it, which of course means the doctors don't know how to cure it. As my doctor said, it was only after men started getting irritable bowel syndrome (or admitting to it, I should say), that any research and treatment came about.

This book deals with Kaysen's mysterious vaginal ailment, and all the hoops she has to jump through to get diagnosed and treated. I read the entire thing with my legs crossed in sympathetic pain. Heaven help me if I ever have to go through what she did.
