One doctor said one thing, one doctor said another, and I felt I needed to document all of it--partly because I couldn’t remember it. As I was doing sexy that, I realized it was funny, and wacky. So I kept writing it.Q: So it was therapeutic to write?A: Not exactly. I don't like that notion that writing is therapeutic. Therapy is therapeutic. Writing is writing. It was practical to write it. I needed a chronology in order to give each new doctor a sexy proper history. And then it became a sort of mystery novel. I admit, I got some satisfaction from noting all the contradictory theories and advice. Q: It’s so direct and personal. Did you have any hesitation about publishing it?A: I did , and I still do!
