I was held captive by your honesty and the familiar sense of kinship with any woman who has had to endure a Pap smear. The story femme felt like it was very real and true to unedited thoughts/feelings/emotions and humor, in other words, your consciousness. I femme found it refreshing that you used "real" words... not euphamisms at every turn. I felt there were lapses where your life narrative should have been. Although it must FEEL(have felt) like you are(were) living life in a "tent" seeking relief... I felt the absence of whatever else was happening in your life. The friends seemed a bit one-dimensional-- in that they were only a sounding board for the vulva experience. |

| I disagree with the reviewer who said that getting into the "old age" portion was a bad thing - it's part and parcel to how the author was feeling - her vagina hurt, she's getting old, she's no longer sexually attractive/active... Also, to the person who said they didn't know how old she was, she told us she was in her 40s.
