| I reviews keep thinking about going back and making an essay out of it. Right after the workshop, I had my presentation, "Mind vs. Brain: Masculinist Discourses in Girl, Interrupted." I was really looking forward to this panel. A few days before the proposal deadline, a friend and I thought of papers on Girl, Interrupted. We sent out an email to a couple of people asking if anyone wanted to join a panel. Someone sent it reviews to WPA-L, and we got a couple of great responses from random strangers, and we put together a panel on feminist autobiography. It went really well. I remember that Lucy Grealy had committed suicide a few weeks earlier, and someone brought that up in the Q&A, and we all gasped and talked about her work. |
