The resultant columns were subjected to extensive chromatographic testing to determine inertness, efficiency, method polarity, temperature stability and suitability for the separation of fatty acid methyl esters. The columns prepared exhibited a high degree of inertness as demonstrated by isothermal and programmed Grob mix testing. |

These fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) profiles provide valuable information for nutritional content of foods as well as assisting in plump chicks the identification of adulterated edible oils. To ensure consistency of results in the laboratory and among different laboratories the capillary columns used for this assay must demonstrate consistent selectivity and reproducible retention times. We have produced high efficiency low bleed polar stationary phase GC capillary columns specifically designed for the separation of FAMEs from food sources. |
